Sisterhood in the music industry, especially within reggae, has not always come easily. Though we are witnessing a powerful elevation and coming together of women in these times, the past offered only rare moments of true creative and collective unity. The male dominated world and the pressures put on women in general…let alone in the spotlight have notoriously created an environment where women tend to lose sight of their own light, diminish their confidence and thus throw them into competition with each other. This is not the true nature of a woman. Women in their natural environment tend to gravitate towards each other in community for the upliftment of all those around them. The sisterhood project was the attempt to bring women back to their roots through a collaborative process - and needless to say this “experiment” so to speak, worked! And very successfully at that.

The Sisterhood Project piloted by Canadian Reggae Ambassador Carrie Mullings who co-produced/composed the riddim alongside Senyama Semafumu aka DJ Evo-Z features Ammoye, Jurney Star, Elaine Shepherd, Nana McLean, Imani King, Blk Orchid and Donna Makeda. Eight strong women of different backgrounds, sounds, styles, stories and vocal artistry sharing and showcasing the same vision through this timeless creation. It has been a long time coming, and with over seven years in the making and the embodiment of patience and the trust in divine timing - The Sisterhood Project, the first official Rebel Vibez Recordz EP has organically and finally made its debut release on January 31st, 2026.

This project is a true testament to what can be created when people come together in unity, standing in support of each other for the greater good of music and humankind.

“This will be a first of many, says Mullings, and I’m truly honoured to have been a part of the creation process of this project, a life-long dream fulfilled, and bearing witness to these amazing women who shared their talents and energy to make this happen. I am extremely proud of each and every one of them.”

Up next on the Rebel Vibez Recordz roster will be the sequel project entitled The Brotherhood Project - release date TBA.

The Sisterhood Project is now available on all streaming platforms.

The Story
8 Women, 1 Riddim, Different Stories, Similar Messages.

The journey of "The Sisterhood Project" began in late 2018 with great intention and positive energy shared between two visionaries. The work between DJ Evoz and I was delayed by many distractions, including directions taken that were not benefiting the greater mission. Once we were connected, working together came with ease.
2019 which was a year of lessons and teachings required to see perspectives in the music business that involved reggae music. Our very first international tour of Stages Canada saw the beautiful island of Jamaica. Headlining the tour, Ammoye hit the stages of her home country Jamaica, Reggae’s birth place, for the very first time. Well known internationally as a reggae artist in Canada, Ammoye was warmly welcomed by fans from Jamaica, Canada and abroad. Three nights at Margaritaville locations in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril made up the iRieMON Tour.
The very first performance of "His Majesty" from The Sisterhood Project was performed at all three stops by Jurney Star. Natural Fyah was also booked for the tour but was unable to make it due to circumstances beyond her control, so fellow reggae sistren Jurney Star graciously accepted a last-minute offer to take her place. Helping her sister out in a time of need, Jurney Star was indeed a wonderful addition to the tour.
Another delay was COVID. In 2020, when we were on an upward trajectory with the project, we were introduced to an uphill battle to gather, record and keep moving at the pace we wanted to complete the project.
Seven years later, here we are, the project is complete and ready for you.
Although we have released the newz and have distributed to DJ's, the official listening party link rebelvibezrecordz.hearnow.com

I would like to extend a special thanks to Justin Gray for designing the cover art with his visual interpretation of "The Sisterhood Project".
